Security, residential communities in focus as Securex hosts confab in Lagos

Securex West Africa says it will be hosting a conference and exhibition that will be focusing on security, fire, safety and facilities management in which energy in residential communities will be spotlighted.

The three-day event held at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, is taking off today. It anticipates more than 70 industry thought leaders across two stages. The exhibition will be hosting over 3000 industry stakeholders that will be coming to view products and solutions from 100 industry-leading brands.

The organizers, in a statement at the weekend, said there would be sessions to be run in collaboration with industry partners, including presentations and panel discussions put together by Bulwark Intelligence.

“The panel discussions will be focusing on ‘Building a Resilient Security Programme, Best Practices for Managing Security Risks in Time of Uncertainty’ and ‘Emerging National Security Threats in West Africa: Strategies for Anticipating and Responding to New Challenges’,” the statement revealed.

Speakers at these sessions include top security executives from Coca-Cola, Nestle, VIISAUS, Transworld Security Systems, FAAN, NCAA, Heirs Holding Oil & Gas Ltd, Zoracom and many others.

Alongside these sessions on security, the OSHA, Nigeria Region, will be making presentations focusing on achieving fire safety through best practices, training and understanding that will culminate in this year’s Fire Safety Merit Awards.

The Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission and executives from Satel, and Port Harcourt Refinery are expected as speakers in this session.

The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM), Nigeria Chapter, in collaboration with other FM stakeholders like the international facilities management association (IFMA), will be making presentations and panel discussions on issues currently trending in the FM industry.

There will be sessions covering energy in residential communities, changing the narrative for the female professional in FM, governance in the sector and raising cleaning standards across Nigeria. To feature in this session are senior executives from Wemabod Estates, VENCO, UPDC FM Limited, IFS Group, Oracle, Total Facilities Limited and TWT Consulting among others.
