Nigerian Army denies shooting #EndSars protesters, claims no soldiers were at the scene

Despite several videos showing the shootings of unarmed EndSars protesters by men in the military, the Nigerian Army has denied reports, claiming none of its men was on sight at the scene.

Video reports went viral on social media yesterday, showing the Nigerian Army opening fire at peaceful protesters who were demanding an end to police brutality.

With many feared dead from the shootings, the video which was broadcasted live on the Instagram handle of one of Nigeria’s top celebrities, was so glaring that it gained the traction of the international community. Hilary Clinton, wife of a former United States president asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army to put an end to the killings.

However, responding to media reports, the Nigerian Army on its official Twitter handle @HQNigerianArmy, claimed the report was fake and that none of its men was present at the scene.

“Fake News!! No Soldiers were at the scene,” the Nigerian Army said.
