Funmi Oyetunji is chairman, Prestige Assurance Plc. Prestige Assurance Plc, is one of Nigeria’s leading general insurance companies with offices nationwide. Funmi Oyetunji is dedicating increasing time to bring her rich finance and risk management experience to the governance of businesses through independent/non-executive directorship roles.

She is a fellow of both the UK Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA).

Her career spans about 40years in accounting practice, banking and business management. In her current executive role as CEO of Abitos Financial Services Limited, she manages their portfolio of real estate and financial investments and previously provided financial advisory services to clients.

Prior to this, she worked in the banking sector which culminated in her role as the bank treasurer of First Bank of Nigeria. Earlier, she worked in accounting and consulting practice between 1981 and 1992 in the firms of Coopers & Lybrand in Nigeria and KPMG at the London office.

Funmi has taught finance on the executive programmes at the Lagos Business School. She has also coached and mentored on the platform of WIMBIZ (Women in Management and Business) and is a member of the Lagos angel investors network.

She has served and is serving on Boards that include Chairman Board of Directors, Prestige Assurance Plc. She was independent non-executive director for 4 years prior.

Others include independent non-executive director at NOVA Merchant Bank, chairing audit and compliance committee and serving on credit and risk committee.

Independent non-executive director at Ecobank Nigeria Limited, where she chaired the risk committee and served on both the credit and audit committees.

Independent non-executive director, American Towers Corporation in Nigeria where she chaired the audit committee.

Member, Governing Council of the Institute of Directors.

Chairman of LASAL Foundation (For Social Mobility through Scholarships and Grants).

Vice President of BDAN (Bank Directors Association of Nigeria).
