NIRSAL’s MoU with Microsoft to drive sustainable agribusiness,reduce costs

The Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural lending, NIRSAL has officially signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the deployment of the Microsoft Azure farmBeats platform.

This development according to the partnership would help Nigerian farmers become more productive, reduce costs, practice sustainable agriculture and science better agricultural outcomes, NIRSAL said in a statement.

Aliyu Abdulhameed, NIRSAL’s Managing director said at the signing that agriculture remains the foundation of Nigeria ‘s economy and is the main source of livelihood for most Nigerians, adding that,” the sustainability and growth of the agricultural sector is crucial for the development of the country and its people”

He expressed confidence that Azure FarmBeats will be the tool that will help us to analyse the data being produced from these farms and all the possible ways to be used in stabilising agricultural value chain while also boosting investors confidence in agribusiness.

NIRSAL further affirmed in a statement that following the PARTNERSHIP, NIRSAL is now able to help farmers analyse weather conditions, temperature, water conditions in real-time to I form better decision-making to optimise agricultural output while also lessening the risks to investors and attracting more funding in Nigeria.
