Lagos, PalmPay partner on agribusiness payment solutions

PalmPay, a fintech platform, has partnered with Lagos state government to provide payment solutions for the weekly food discount market initiative tagged ‘Ounje Eko.’

As part of the payment solutions for the initiative, Ounje Eko adopted NQR powered by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System to enhance convenience and accessibility for customers.

Ounje Eko is a food intervention program by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos state governor aimed at providing succour to residents.

The initiative takes place across five (5) divisions of the state, and opens in 27 locations in Ikeja; six in Lagos Island; nine in Ikorodu; five in Epe; and 10 in Badagry division.

“PalmPay is privileged to have participated in the Ounje Eko initiative and offered its support as one of the independent payment solution providers,” Enakeno Umuteme, head, marketing communications, PalmPay, said in a statement.

He said that partnering with the Lagos state government to bolster its agricultural initiative, with the right payment solutions will help to empower residents and businesses with the necessary financial tools.

Umuteme said further that Ounje Eko is a laudable initiative that is helping to bridge the effect of the country’s current surging inflation.

According to him, the fintech company is committed to empowering individuals and businesses with the needed tools to thrive. “We believe that having supported this intervention, we were able to make a meaningful impact in our community.”

Umuteme said that both vendors and consumers can anticipate a seamless and user-friendly experience with PalmPay’s expertise in delivering secure and efficient digital payment solutions, coupled with its involvement in the discounted market initiative.
