‘The Citizen’s Book on Governance’, a concise, practical guide on Nigeria’s democracy and system of governance was launched on Monday at the Bankers House in Lagos.

The author of the book, Adekunle Osibogun, a solicitor and advocate in the law firm of Banwo & Ighodalo, in support of a youth initiative called Project A.N.Y. (Awaken Nigerian Youths) said, “The book’s objective is to enlighten Nigerians on and about the roles of their democratic institutions, their fundamental rights and civic duties, within the democratic system of government”.

Osibogun explained that the motive for writing the book was borne out of the need he discovered while working on Project A.N.Y.

This project is an initiative designed by Young Progressive Nigerians Initiative (YPNI) to educate and enlighten youths on democracy and good governance, and empower them to conceive and develop practical socio-political and economic values, necessary for their positive contributions and active participation in public management and the political affairs of their immediate community.

The project, ‘Awaken Nigerian Youths’ points out that ‘any Nigerian Youth’ can be a leader, so all Nigerian youth should be enlightened on the operations of government and the concept of good governance. It is believed that the Citizen’s Book on Governance will aid and develop political consciousness amongst all Nigerians.
