JTF arrests 13 suspected oil pipeline vandals

The Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield, said it has arrested 13 suspected oil pipeline vandals in separate operations in Delta, Edo and Rivers states.

Three of the suspects were arrested at Opumani Gbekebor in B ennethIsland of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State and Agbede forest in Edo State where they ran three illegal oil refineries by operatives of 3 Battalion of Sector 1.

A JTF statement signed by the media coordinator, Onyema Nwachukwu, a lieutenant colonel, said three suspects, Samson Kristo, Lawrence Pius and Powede Clerk, were helping the JTF in their preliminary investigations at the headquarters of 3 Battalion.

Items recovered from them include four metal tanks, 236 drums and 13 pumping machines while five pits used to store stolen crude oil were sealed up by the JTF operatives in Edo and Delta states.
