Firm files appeal against FAAN over airport hotel land

ICAO commences security audit of Lagos, Abuja airports

Dissatisfied with the take-over of the airport land meant for the construction of a hotel complex at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), AIC Limited, the company which had been in a legal battle with FAAN over the land, has filed an appeal.

The Federal High Court in Lagos last week ruled in favour of FAAN setting aside the late Justice Kayode Eso’s Court of Arbitration ruling that FAAN hindered the firm from its concession pact it entered in 1998, awarding $48 million against FAAN.

FAAN had also proceeded to the Lagos High Court for succour.

The authority, however, got a reprieve when Justice J. Buba in his judgement set aside the arbitration ruling.

But AIC in its notice of appeal filed by its counsel, A.B.M. Kasunmu (SAN), and made available to journalists at the weekend, said it was dissatisfied with the judgement of the Federal High Court, Lagos.
