The Imo government has embarked on the rectification of water facilities in Owerri to ensure adequate water supply to apartments.

Announcing this at a news conference on Monday in Owerri, Iheanyi Nwachukwu, commissioner for public utilities, public safety and entrepreneur, said the exercise was to restore normal water supply to the city.

He noted that there had been no supply of potable water in some parts of the city for sometime.

Nwachukwu attributed the problem to the massive road construction in the city, adding, “This affected water facilities and disrupted water supply in the areas, but we are in now to address the situation.

“We have started the relocation of damaged water pipes and other facilities in the Owerri metropolis”, he said.
