Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has said that he is the true chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF).

This is because, according to him, he clearly won the election of the chairman of the forum weekend in Abuja.

He said at a church service in Port Harcourt on Sunday that his silence did not mean he did not know his status.

The governor seems to be girding his loins to resume a blaze of development projects in the state beginning with building of more schools in the state and completion of a key road. He has promised the youth of the state a new verve of work.

Speaking at an Interdenominational church service at the Corpus Christi Cathedral in Port Harcourt to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration which also coincided with his (Amaechi) 48th birthday, the governor said “They voted, we voted and we won. If they had won, I would have congratulated them”.

Governor Amaechi also assured children of the state of his administration’s desire to provide good governance and quality education. He also said government was on track to provide adequate security all over the state and talked of his preparedness to restore security in the state.

Earlier, the officiating priest, the bishop of Port Harcourt Diocese, Camillus Etukudoh, congratulated the governor and assured him that the church will continue to pray for him and the state.
