A sudden fire outbreak on Wednesday gutted a section of Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s personal house located at Ibara Housing Estate in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state, burning some valuables, including clothes, shoes, electrical appliances, old newspapers worth several millions of naira.

The midday inferno, according to some of the early callers who spoke on condition of anonymity to BusinessDay, was attributed to the electric power surge which sparked off and started from Governor Amosun’s elder brother’s wife bedroom, razing the bedroom and an adjoining kitchen.

Informed sources also told BusinessDay that the house, which burnt for about 30 minutes before the Ogun State Fire Service came to the scene with a fire fighting vehicle marked OG 127 A09, seriously destroyed Amosun’s elder brother’s wife bedroom, as the said wife reportedly escaped death by whiskers.

But Governor Amosun’s elder brother, Abidoye Amosun, who later spoke with newsmen, said the fire came mysteriously
