Easter: Yuguda, Mohammed urge spreading the gospel of love, peace

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has called on Christians in the state to emulate the preaching of Jesus Christ, which teaches peace, honesty and love for one another.

In his Easter message to the people on Thursday in Bauchi, Yuguda urged them to bury their ethnic, religious or political differences and live in peace and harmony with one another.

He appealed to the people to continue to pray for an end to the current security challenges that had bedeviling some parts of the country.

The governor said that the period was being observed to remember Jesus Christ, who paid the supreme price in order to save souls.

Yuguda also called on Christians to use the Easter celebrations as sober reflection and self-evaluation towards relating with the Creator and their fellow man.

FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, urged FCT residents to spread the gospel of love, sacrifice, tolerance and peaceful co-existence as Christians celebrate Easter.

The call is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Muhammad Sule, the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister.

The statement quoted the minister as congratulating residents, particularly Christians on the occasion, adding that the celebration called for sober reflection and the emulation of the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.

He charged FCT residents to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity to make the world a better place.

The minister expressed gratitude to God for the privilege and mercy He granted residents to join other Christians around the globe to commemorate the day in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Bala appealed to residents of the territory to continue to be their brothers’ keeper, irrespective of the religious belief.

He enjoined residents to continue to supplicate to God for peace and prosperity to reign in the nation, “especially with the current security challenges facing the country.

“As you pray for the nation, I enjoin you to also pray for its leadership, for God to continue to guide, protect and give the president the strength and the wisdom to steer the affairs of the nation”
