Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has traced poor implementation of government policies to lack of cooperation between the state commissioners and permanent secretaries.
Chime, who made this known while swearing in nine new permanent secretaries, directed all commissioners in the state to brief permanent secretaries under their ministries on the outcome of every executive council meeting.
He also ordered that minutes of such meetings be made available to them to ensure the full and proper implementation of government policies and programmes.
The governor charged the new permanent secretaries to bring their wealth of experience to assist his administration’s effort to bring about the total transformation of the state.
He disclosed that all the new permanent secretaries were picked from within the civil service to ensure sustenance and entrenchment of the new system of public administration introduced in the state by his administration.
