The Boko Haram insurgency will disappear if political leaders refuse to play politics with religion, the chairman of the Kwara State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. James Folaranmi, has said.
Folaranmi made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin on Monday.
He appealed to the political class to desist from playing politics with religion to tackle the insurgency.
“Political leaders should be faithful in addressing the Boko Haram issue and desist from using it to their advantage.
“The idea of allowing people to hide under the canopy of religion should be disallowed. The Boko Haram issue is politicised to the detriment of innocent Nigerians”, he said.
