Fifty people from Borno returned to Maiduguri on Sunday after a three-month extensive training on agriculture in Thailand.
The group, comprising 41 males and nine females, departed the state in November for the course aimed at preparing ground for agricultural revolution in the state.
Receiving the group, Zanna Mustapha, the deputy governor of the state, commended them for their dedication to study while in Thailand.
He said the state government had acquired some farming equipment for them to use in boosting crop production.
Mustapha explained that they were sent for training in Thailand so that the state would be among the top food producers in the country.
The deputy governor further said that the government was making arrangement to send another batch of trainees to Thailand.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Abubakar Ismail thanked the government for sending them to the Asian country for the training.
He promised that they would reciprocate the gesture by working hard to turn around the fortunes of the state in the area of agriculture.
