The State of Osun’s much awaited innovative e-learning device tagged Opon Imo was on Monday unveiled amidst showers of praises for the ingenuity of the Rauf Aregbesola-led administration.

It was the creme-de la-creme in Nigeria that unveiled the device at the Zainabab Half Moon Resort, Ilesa as the town stood still for the unveiling ceremony.

Dignitaries who graced the launch of the tablet of knowledge included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former FCT minister, Nasir el- Rufai; retired General Alani Akinrinade; Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade; and other important dignitaries.

The governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola, in his address, said Africans would no longer accept the tag of a continent without hope or future. He stated that with the launch of Opon Imo, Nigeria and indeed the entire black continent has sent a signal of its arrival on the world stage of development.

This was even as the Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, in his goodwill message described the Opon Imo as a grand-breaking initiative worthy of emulation.
