Former minister of information and communications, Dora Akunyili; former minister of state in the ministry, Ikra Bilbis, and the permanent secretary of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Anthony Ozodinobi, have been given one-week ultimatum by the House of Representatives to return four official vehicles that were attached to them while in office.

The vehicles in question, which are allegedly still in their possession, are four Toyota Hilux Double Cabin pick-up vans.

Briefing the committee on public accounts during a public hearing on Wednesday, the permanent secretary, information and communications ministry, Kehinde Ajoni, said all efforts to retrieve the vehicles from the officials since 2010 had proved abortive.

Chairman of the committee, Adeola Solomon Olamilekan, while handing down the order, after hearing the submission of the officials of the ministry, threatened that failure on the part of any of them to comply with the directive would lead to being dragged to court, and charged for stealing of government property in accordance with the laws of the land.
