The 28-year-old social media star, now boasting a 12-1 (7 KOs) record, delivered a composed performance to keep his boxing ambitions alive against his most experienced opponent to date.
Among the names on his radar was WBC cruiserweight titleholder Badou Jack, but it was the mention of Anthony Joshua that turned heads.
“Anthony Joshua is a wild fight, but I want that challenge,” Paul told DAZN. “I’m definitely not a heavyweight, but I’m still going to take the challenge! We’ve been DM-ing back and forth. He wants to make it happen. He called me up, and it’s looking very likely for next year.”
Jake Paul pointed to past heavyweight greats who succeeded at lighter weights, referencing Deontay Wilder’s knockout power despite weighing around 215 pounds. “Joshua is like 6ft 6in or something, but anything is possible,” he added.
Paul’s callout signals his boldest career move yet, as he eyes a leap from cruiserweight to the heavyweight division to face one of boxing’s biggest global stars.
Jake Paul’s improbable journey from YouTube fame to professional boxing continues to gain momentum, and with a potential clash against Anthony Joshua now on the horizon, the spectacle surrounding “The Problem Child” is only set to grow.
