James Faleke of APC declared winner of Ikeja Reps seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared James Faleke, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Federal House of Representatives seat for Ikeja, Lagos State.

 

Prof Olafumilago Olaotan Bameke the returning officer for the election, said Faleke polled 25,195 to defeat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Kunle Okunola, who  received 21, 373.

 

Bameke said that the total number of votes cast was 51,163, while the total registered voters in the constituency was 312,129, while accredited voters were 51,960.

 

Meanwhile the PDP candidate Kunle Okunola and his agents kicked against the announcement by INEC, alleging irregularities at several polling units and called for the cancellation of the result of the election.

 

Faleke is currently representing the constituency in the lower chamber at the National Assembly.
