French Tech Lagos, the official French Tech community in Nigeria, celebrated the renewal of its label with an event bringing together more than 100 founders, investors, corporate leaders, technology professionals, public sector representatives and members of the diplomatic community at Lycée Français Louis Pasteur in Lagos.
The evening marked the beginning of a new chapter for the community, introducing its newly appointed Board and reaffirming its mission to strengthen collaboration between the French and Nigerian innovation ecosystems.
Representatives of the French diplomatic mission, including the Consul General of France in Lagos and the Regional Economic and Trade Department, joined the event, highlighting France’s continued commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
A panel discussion, “Building Stronger Bridges Between the Nigerian Market and the French Innovation Ecosystem,” brought together leaders from Oneconnect Infrastructure, Wakanow Nigeria, Baobab Microfinance Bank, Digital Virgo and Team France Export.
Moderated by Community Lead Ogatcha Prudence, the discussion explored opportunities to deepen business, technology and investment partnerships between both countries.
Throughout the discussion, speakers emphasized Nigeria’s strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, the importance of local partnerships and the opportunities for greater France–Nigeria collaboration.
Looking ahead, organisers of French Tech Lagos says it will continue to foster connections between entrepreneurs, investors, corporates and public institutions through networking events, strategic partnerships and ecosystem engagement, contributing to stronger innovation ties between France and Nigeria.
