FlexxyDrive has entered Lagos’ transport sector after receiving approval from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation to operate as a licensed e-hailing platform. The approval allows the company to begin operations in one of Africa’s busiest urban mobility markets.

The platform, developed by Flexxy GmbH, is introducing what it describes as a “driver-first” model, allowing drivers to keep their full earnings without commission deductions. The company said the system was designed to address concerns about income reduction among ride-hailing drivers in Nigeria.

Co-Founder Ajimijereomo Paul said the approval confirms the company’s compliance with state transport requirements while supporting a business structure focused on driver earnings. He noted that removing commission charges could improve income stability for drivers working within the platform.

FlexxyDrive also combines mobility and financial services within one application. Riders receive cashback rewards after trips, while drivers and passengers can access an in-app wallet system for payments and incentives.

Technical Co-Founder Stan Ibor said the platform was built with a focus on operational scale and passenger safety. Features currently available include real-time trip tracking, secure pickup verification through passcodes and ride-sharing services. The company also plans to expand into courier and logistics operations.

According to the company, the application has recorded more than 50,000 downloads since launch, reflecting growing interest in alternative ride-hailing services in Nigeria.

FlexxyDrive is also part of the NVIDIA Inception ecosystem, which provides startups with access to computing resources and cloud infrastructure support. Industry observers say the company’s approach reflects the growing move towards integrated “super-app” platforms that combine transport, payments and logistics services in emerging markets.

The company is preparing for a €1 million pre-seed funding round to support expansion across Nigeria and other African markets. Chief Operating Officer Ebri Inah is leading operational rollout efforts in Lagos, where activation campaigns are ongoing across commercial and residential areas.
