SHIPWRECKED: NIGHTMARE AT SEA (2026)

If you enjoyed the old iconic movie called Titanic, then this movie will be worth your while. This was more like a documentary where survivors shared their stories with videos and pictures while the movie played. This was a very emotional and intriguing movie, one that brought me to tears and sorrow. In this movie, a few families that survived told their various stories from their own angles and perspectives. One family a husband, wife, and baby, shared their experience. The husband explained how he had to fight to save himself, his wife, and their daughter when escaping the ship. That happened about 12 years ago, and today, his daughter has grown into a beautiful ballerina. One of the ladies explained that her life has never been the same because her mother never made it out alive. This was a compilation of different stories of families going onboard to have fun, only for that trip to become a tragedy they will never forget in their lives. The 87-minute documentary was directed by Chiara Messineo, and they featured cast members like John Scimone, Meghan Scimone, Patricia Sandoval, Nicholas Taliaferro, Stefania Vincenzi, Manrico Gianpedroni, Rose Metcalf, Manoy Singh, Barbie Nadean, and many more.

THE VOLCANO: RESCUE FROM WHAKAARI (2022)

So, I guess for me it’s a back-to-back week of documentary movies based on real life happenings, just immediately after seeing Shipwreck, I decided to jump on this recently added one from 2022. In this documentary with videos and picture footage from the real events, different families share their experience also and how they fought for their lives. First there was this newly married couple who travelled for their honeymoon and decided to visit the island and take pictures, for some weird reasons, she was scared but went anyway as she was with her husband, they both suffered level 3 burns, but are still alive, the next was a family of three, father, mother and son, but they also made it out alive with level 2 burns, the pilot and guards also shared their experiences and how they had to protect and guide their people during the calamity. The honest truth was that none of them saw it coming and no mater how long and well you prepare for a mishap, what you actually do and how you react during the crisis is way different from preparing for it. This 98m documentary was directed by Rory Kennedy, they featured cast like Jesse Langford, Kelsey Waghorn, Brain Depauw, Lauren Urey, Mtt Urey, Mark Inman, John Fnnell, Pouroto Ngaropo and many more
