Bandits kill three policemen, injure two in Katsina

Three police officers were killed and two others injured on Tuesday after suspected bandits ambushed a patrol team in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State. The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday by its spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, who said the attack occurred at about 12:44 p.m. along the Guga–Bakori axis while officers were on routine anti-crime patrol.

According to the police, the patrol team was suddenly confronted by armed hoodlums who opened fire, leading to a gun battle in which three officers lost their lives. The injured officers were taken to a medical facility for treatment, while security forces have launched a manhunt for the attackers and reinforced patrols in the area, as residents were urged to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement.
