Ycreators, an after class prep school for continuous learning has said it is poised to create life-changing tech experiences that will embolden students to shape the future.
Located in the heart of Yaba, Ycreators provides hands-on, fun, inspiring science and robotics training for young Nigerians while also helping them to push the boundaries of software and build in-demand skills which is not offered in most schools.
“We help students acquire skills that will enable them land dream jobs at the world’s most iconic companies (Google, Facebook, GE, Epic Games, IBM, and Microsoft). Along the way many will attend top colleges, launch their own start-ups, and create game-changing non-profits,” Lotachukwu Ibe, a facilitator at Ycreators said.
With over 12 innovative courses for all interests, Ycreators has groomed over 1000 young Nigerians in the last one year it started organising boot camps and going to schools to train students.
“We run STEM Education classes where our students acquire hands-on knowledge on Robotics, 3D Modelling, Internet of Things, Game Development and Coding,” another facilitator told BusinessDay at the recently concluded 2-weeks summer boot camp in Yaba.
The key objectives of Ycreators is to; encourage and facilitate fun in crafting, hacking, tinkering; empower attending students to think creatively and learn by hands-on programming interaction, while also providing a platform for collaborative effort through group/ team work and activities with a solid structure.
“Through the STEM classes, I have been able to learn how to code, and this has given me an idea of how my engineering career is going to be like,” an 11 year old student at one of Ycreators’ summer camp trainings told BusinessDay.
Some of the course offered by Ycreators include: Robotics, 3D printing, Game development, Artificial Intelligence, ects. The school has autonomous and self-driving Robotics Laboratory where the students are trained on coding with Arduino, RPi and VEX, ect.
With an environment equipped with top of the end robotics and build out, Ycreators provide students with a large variety of robotics kits from intro and intermediate to advanced and super kits (Arduino, Lego Mindstorms, VEX and others), built to suit every one’s tastes and liabilities.
“Among other courses that we offer our students, we train them on programming, an immersive, career focused program that is idea for Tweens, Teens and Genz kids with passion for coding, engineering, and AI,” Ibe said.
Commenting on how the trainings has impacted her, a 9 year old student who was attending her first boot camp with Ycreators said “it has helped me develop my IQ and has given me the opportunity to be creative and innovative.”
