Thunder storm has destroyed some parts of the airport terminal building, pilot lounge and the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The incident was said to have caused discomfort to passengers, airport users and other aviation officials working at the airport.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the incident in a in an online statement signed by Henrietta Yakubu, acting general manager, corporate affairs department,
Confirming the incident, Yakubu said, “the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that a natural disaster occurred at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.”
