The FCT Minister, Muhammad Bello, says the Korea Model School being built in Abuja via multilateral cooperation between the Nigerian and the Korean governments will be ready by the third quarter.

The minister gave this assurance while receiving the South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Noh Duk, who visited him on Friday in Abuja.

Bello expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far at the project site on the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway (Airport road).

He said the administration will provide all necessary support to the engineers and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to ensure timely completion of the project and inauguration by the third quarter of 2017.

The minister noted that issues of infrastructure delivery and other physical obstructions are also being addressed by the FCT Administration to ensure successful completion of the project.

“I noticed of course that there are outstanding issues, like infrastructure delivery, and may be physical removal of some obstructions.

“I will discuss more with our Permanent Secretary and the Engineers. We will try as much as possible to make sure it is sorted out as quickly as possible,” he said.

He called on the Country Director, KOICA, Sook Park, to bring to his notice any challenge being faced by the contractors so that immediate solution could be proffered.

Bello thanked the Korean Government for the training it has been providing to teachers and other government officials in the FCT, as well as other bilateral projects it is executing in Nigeria through KOICA.

He said the gestures have helped to improve and strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Speaking, the ambassador appreciated the cooperation his Embassy and KOICA have been receiving from the FCT Administration.

Noh said that such cooperation is positively reflecting on the bilateral projects being undertaken.

Also speaking, the Country Director/Regional Representative of KOICA, Sook Park said that all efforts would be put in to deliver the project as planned including the school equipment and materials.
