The Senate Thursday received from the Presidency the list of nominees into the management board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The Presidency also sent two nominees as justices of the Supreme Court.

Senate President Bukola Saraki read a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari informing the upper chamber of the nomination of 19 persons to serve on the NDDC board.

Former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba (Cross River State) is to serve as Chairman of the Commission, while Nsima Udo Ekere, former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom state is to serve as the Managing Director.

Other nominees are Adjogba Samuel (Delta State) who has been penciled down as Executive Director (Project); Mene Derek (River State) as Executive Director, Finance and Administration; while other members include: Donatus Enyinna (Abia State); Frank Samuel George (Akwa-Ibom State); Brambaifa Nelson (Bayelsa State); Sylvester Effefiom Nsa (Cross River State); Ogaga Ifowodo (Delta State); Uwuilekhue Saturday (Edo State) Osita Izunaso (Imo State); Olatokunbo Ajasin (Ondo State) and Harry Dabibi (Rivers State).

The rest are Benard Banfa (North Central Zone); Yahaya Mohammed (North East Zone); Mustapha Dankadai (North West Zone); Igo Weli (Niger Delta); Mahmoud Isa-Dutse (Federal ministry of Finance) and Abdul-kazeem Kasimu Bayero (Sederal Ministry of Environment).

According to the president, the nomination was in accordance with provisions of Section 2 (2)(a) of the NDDC Act 2000.

Two Judges were nominated through a different letter for confirmation as Justices of the Supreme Court.

Justice Ejembi Eko JCA from Benue state is to fill the void of North Central zone, while Justice Amina Augie from Kebbi State is to fill the vacuum of the North West at the apex court.
