Alpha Beta Consulting, whose name is mentioned in the controversial Lagos Land Used Charge law (LUC) says it does not have any role in the state’s LUC.
Bode Oluyemi, Deputy Managing Director of the consulting firm, in a statement, adds that although Alpha Beta does business with Lagos State government, it does not, however, collect or administer land use charge for the state.
Oluyemi, in response to reports on the insertion of the company’s name in the land use charge law, which was signed into law on January 8 by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, says “we would like to state that our company, Alpha Beta Consulting, is not involved in the collection and administration of the Land Use Charge of Lagos State.
“Although we do business with the state, as we do with other individuals and organisations that require our services, Land Use Charge collection and/or administration is not part of our brief. We make bold to state, therefore, that the stories making the rounds that link us to it are not true and do not represent our correct relationship with the government,” Oluyemi said.
Tunde Braimoh, chairman, Lagos House of Assembly Committee on information, said on Wednesday that Alpha Beta was inserted into the new law in error and a process has begun to expunge it before the law was finally gazetted and made available to the public.
