BUS public speaking academy is set to hold the first of its kind, oratory competition for Ajegunle youths, which is aimed at discovering hidden orators that will help redefine the community.

The competition which is tagged, “King of Podium”, with the theme: The Role of Youth in Curbing Community Violence: A Case Study of Ajegunle; will kick off with an orientation on October 3, which will be followed by audition stages planned for October 10, and 17 and the Grand Finale, Saturday, October 30.

Speaking on the competition expectations, the organiser and founder of BUS Public Speaking Academy, Blessing Sunday said that the event is one borne out of the necessity to empower and sentize young people in the environment to take up responsibilities of making the community a safe haven for all with the goal of changing the narrative of Ajegunle and exploring the richness of positive potential in the youth.

BUS Public Speaking Academy is an institution that is committed to empowering young people to be dynamic and confident in expressing their personal ideas and corporate presentations at all levels through personal coaching, open/customised trainings and seminars.

“We have provided this platform for youths between the ages of 16 and 26 that possess the skills and fluidity to manoeuvre around with words without stumbling. Our dream is to discover the next oratory king and challenge others to master this unique skills.”

Indeed, it promises to be a showcase of talents with an undisputed king and runner up walking home with attractive prizes, which we believe will spur many others to come out of their fears of speaking in public.

Great leaders are great communicator we are convinced this competition will not only inspire new generation of great speakers but also leaders who are ready to redefine a community that has been known for violence and crime.
