Abia flags off distribution of laptops to civil servants

Abia State government in its resolve to make its workforce ICT compliant has flagged off the distribution of laptops to civil servants.

Vivian Umah, the state Head of Service, while flagging off the distribution of the laptops, said the state civil service had arrived with the distribution of the laptops, as ICT would enhance efficiency in their daily duties.

Umah disclosed that the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu had many good incentives for the Abia workforce so numerous to mention, adding that the distribution of laptops was one of such goodies.

The Abia HoS commended Mutual Alliance Investments and Securities Limited and Pyce Technologies Limited for being faithful and steadfast in the partnership.

She admonished beneficiaries to make good use of the sets and avoid using it for evil thing such as scam.

Mba Okereke, permanent secretary, Bureau of Service Welfare, said the world had become a global village because of the evolution of ICT, and disclosed that Governor Ikpeazu who had vowed to make all civil servants in the state to be ICT compliant had made the conception of the project real.

Earlier in his speech, Bernard Wole Ilori, chief executive of Mutual Alliance Investments and Securities Limited, noted that everything in this world was technologically driven and encouraged civil servants in the state to embrace this noble project, adding that it was a project that would take Abia to greater heights.
