Tinubu appoints new executive directors for NPA, NIMASA

Tinubu approves policy for system-wide data on education

President Bola Tinubu has appointed some new executive directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Both agencies are under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

For the Nigerian Ports Authority, Vivian C. Richard Edet was appointed executive director, Finance and Administration, while Olalekan Badmus becomes executive director of Marine and Operations.

Ibrahim Abba Umar would serve as executive director of Engineering and Technical Services.

For the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Jibril Abba is appointed executive director of Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services; Chudi Offodile is now executive director of Finance and Administration, and Fatai Taye Adeyemi becomes executive director of Operations.

According to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, President Tinubu approved the appointments with the firm belief that the new appointees will expeditiously and efficiently execute their collective mandate.
He said that they would help to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy Sector to the nation’s GDP.
