Carloha Nigeria, the authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in the country, has launched a nationwide emergency roadside assistance programme aimed at supporting motorists whose vehicles break down on highways and major roads.

The company said the initiative, known as the CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue programme, will provide emergency response services through a dedicated hotline, with trained rescue teams dispatched to assist stranded motorists across the country.

In a move that broadens the programme’s reach, Carloha Nigeria said the service will, for a limited period, also be available free of charge to owners of vehicles outside the Chery brand, subject to operational capacity. The company added that Chery customers would continue to receive priority during periods of high demand.

“Response times vary depending on location and road accessibility. Every distress call receives a professional dispatch, ensuring that no stranded motorist is left without support,” the company noted.

According to the company, the rescue service is an extension of its existing after-sales package, which includes a six-year manufacturer’s warranty, six years of scheduled maintenance, and a seven-day repair commitment under specified conditions.

Speaking on the initiative, Samson Akinbowale, After-sales Manager at Carloha Nigeria, said the programme is intended to reduce the challenges motorists face when vehicles break down unexpectedly.

Akinbowale added that, beyond emergency rescue, the service will also provide on-site maintenance support for individual vehicle owners and fleet operators where applicable.

“Vehicle breakdowns can occur unexpectedly and often create stressful situations for motorists. With the CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue Initiative, our customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that a dedicated team of trained professionals is available around the clock to provide prompt assistance whenever they need it,” he said.

Felix Mahan, General Manager of Marketing at Carloha Nigeria, said extending the service to motorists using other vehicle brands reflects the company’s effort to improve roadside support and vehicle recovery services across the country.

“We have the team, the trucks, and the expertise. When our rescue fleet has capacity to spare, it is our responsibility to put those resources to work keeping Nigeria’s roads moving, regardless of what brand a stranded motorist drives.

“This is an unprecedented industry-first for Nigeria. By extending these free rescue services to both our clients and users of competing brands, we are demonstrating a firm commitment to elevating overall safety on Nigerian roads,” Mahan said.

In addition to emergency towing, the programme will offer on-location maintenance and technical support, although some maintenance services may attract charges. Motorists can access the service through a dedicated emergency telephone line provided by the company.
