Subscribers of Nigeria’s newest network provider, Ntel are set to experience clear high definition Voice over LTE (VoLTE) calls when they download the latest application, VOXHD from the Google Play Store.
The VoLTE app was launched recently in Lagos. The app, according to leaders of the teleco, enables customers with 4G/LTE enabled devices to experience the unique voice service ntel provides.
Many will recall that ntel made its first on-net test data call in Lagos early in January and followed up with an on-net VoLTE call in Lagos in February. The company commenced full commercial operations in April.
Kamar Abass, ntel Chief Executive Officer who spoke at the launch stated that it was the first time a Voice over LTE application that originated from a Nigerian network was being hosted on the Google Play Store.
“The application avails our customers of crystal clear high definition VoLTE calls, Short Message Service (SMS over LTE) as well as other traditional features expected from a cellular voice service. With this application, our customers can make and receive HD voice calls, send and receive SMS on their ntel line with any compatible 4G device anywhere within our coverage areas,” Abass said.
He further noted that ntel was committed to improving user experience by deploying cutting edge technology in its service delivery.
Customers can download the app by simply typing the words “ntel VOXHD’ on the play store. The application is compatible with devices that run on Android Operating System (OS) versions from Android 5.X.
Plans are ongoing to also integrate customers on the Apple iOS. The firm said it will release updates regularly. Importantly, only user with ntel SIM cards can access the app.
