MTN, the country largest mobile operator, has given away cash prizes that include Nokia phones, generators and TV sets to winners of the MTN Cash Quest Promo, an SMS-based promo which consists of trivia-based questions around General knowledge, History, English language amongst others.
This is said to be part of MTN’s efforts to reward and excite customers, make the lives of customers better and celebrate some of the customers who have taken the opportunity to better themselves through the promo.
Two winners were rewarded with N10m cash prizes, 18 winners were rewarded N1m cash prizes and 2 winners received N500,000 cash prizes each. Sixteen winners from the customers who joined the network in the month of December were rewarded N1m each and other winners received phones, 42 inch TV screens and 2.5KVA generators.

Speaking during the MTN Cash Quest prize presentation in Lagos, Bayo Adekanmbi, chief marketing officer, MTN, said that of the 100days of this promo, over 300 customers will win Nokia Lumia phones, 42 inch TVs and 2.5KVA generators free of charge. The promo continues till the 31st of March and there are still lots of prizes to be won.”
While shedding light on the promo, he said that the promo has two platforms of engagement which are the Free zone leg and the subscription based zone. Adekanmbi noted that for the Free zone leg, customers stand a chance to win N500,000 weekly and other electronic gadgets by answering the questions for free and prizes in this category include Nokia phones, 42inch TV and 2.2KVA generators.
“For the Subscription based zone, it requires a daily deduction of N100 (VIP class) or N20(Masterclass) for weekly cash prizes and participants stand a chance of winning N10m weekly and N1m daily. In addition to the cash prize, one subscriber will win a brand new SUV Kia Sportage every month,” he added.
Okoh Emmanuel Chigozie, a 22-year-old, who emerged as one of the winners of the N10m grand prize, said he was surprised when he got the call from MTN that he had won N10m. Chigozie said he sacrificed his opportunity to go to the university for his two younger ones because his father could not afford to pay his fees, but with the money, he can now study Engineering in any university of his choice.
