Nigeria’s longest-running entrepreneurial reality television show, Betano-The Next Titan Nigeria, will return for its 11th season with a N50 million grand prize, as organisers and corporate sponsors deepen efforts to encourage entrepreneurship and help young Nigerians build sustainable businesses amid a challenging economic climate.
The organisers unveiled the new season on Thursday, announcing Betano as the title sponsor for the second consecutive year. Successful applicants will proceed to a three-day entrepreneurship boot camp, where the top 50 contestants will undergo intensive business training, leadership development and practical enterprise challenges. Twenty finalists will then move into the Titan House for the televised competition.
Speaking at the pre-season brunch, Mide Akinlaja, tne executive producer, said the programme has grown beyond a television reality show into a platform that develops entrepreneurs capable of creating jobs and contributing to Nigeria’s economy.
“Entrepreneurship remains one of the strongest pathways to national development. Our goal is not only to entertain but also to inspire, educate and empower young Nigerians to create businesses and jobs,” Akinlaja said.
He said contestants will face weekly business challenges covering sales, marketing, advertising, strategy, leadership and teamwork while receiving mentorship from some of Nigeria’s leading business executives.
According to him, the programme searches for young Nigerians with innovative business ideas and the right entrepreneurial mindset, giving them a national television platform to demonstrate their abilities while inspiring millions of viewers to see entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
He said the show captures the realities of building a business, exposing audiences to both the successes and setbacks entrepreneurs experience, while combining practical learning with entertainment.
The 10-week competition is designed to uncover innovation, creativity and business potential among young Nigerians through rigorous business challenges, strategic decision-making exercises and real-world execution tasks, with leading business executives serving as judges and mentors.
Akinlaja added that many winners and contestants from previous editions have gone on to establish successful businesses across different sectors, with several becoming employers of labour after benefiting from the programme’s funding, mentorship and business training.
Betano said its continued sponsorship reflects its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and youth development in Nigeria.
Daniel Lamberti, senior business development advisor for Betano in Africa, said Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most vibrant entrepreneurial markets and that the company wants to support the country’s next generation of innovators.
“Supporting another season of Betano-The Next Titan reflects our long-term commitment to Nigeria. We want to celebrate ambition, encourage innovation and help create opportunities for young entrepreneurs,” Lamberti said.
He added that Betano’s parent company, Kaizen Gaming, continues to invest in technology and artificial intelligence to improve its products while maintaining responsible gaming as a core part of its operations.
Bidemi Alfred, marketing and corporate communications manager at Veritasi Homes and Properties, said the company’s decision to sponsor the programme aligns with its belief in resilience and entrepreneurship.
“The theme for this year’s edition, ‘Be The Relentless’, reflects what Veritasi stands for. Our founder started as an entrepreneur, and through persistence built one of Nigeria’s leading real estate brands. That same entrepreneurial spirit is why we are supporting this initiative,” Alfred said.
He said partnerships between private companies and entrepreneurship platforms are important to ensure that innovation continues to thrive, adding that supporting young entrepreneurs today will help create future business leaders and strengthen Nigeria’s economy.
The organisers said the programme has spent more than a decade identifying and nurturing entrepreneurs with promising business ideas, using competition, mentorship and funding to transform ideas into sustainable enterprises.
