LG Electronics has introduced a new range of inverter-powered refrigerators aimed at helping Nigerian households reduce electricity consumption and manage rising living costs.
The company said the refrigerators were designed to provide better energy efficiency, reliable cooling, and long-term savings for families facing increasing electricity tariffs and inflation.
According to LG, refrigerators remain one of the most heavily used appliances in Nigerian homes because they operate throughout the day and night, making them a major contributor to household electricity bills.

This helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption while maintaining stable temperatures.
LG explained that the technology also helps preserve food freshness for longer periods, especially during power interruptions, which are common in many parts of Nigeria. Faster cooling recovery and steady internal temperatures can reduce food spoilage and help families save money on food expenses.
The company added that the refrigerators were built with fewer friction points in the compressor system, improving durability and reducing maintenance costs over time.
LG’s refrigerator lineup includes Top Mount, Side-by-Side, and Door-in-Door models designed for different household sizes and lifestyle needs.
The Top Mount refrigerators are designed for everyday family use and focus on practical storage and energy efficiency. One of the models, the LG GN-F452PFAQ, features a FRESH Converter+ system that adjusts temperature based on the type of food stored, as well as an Auto Ice Maker.
For larger families, the Side-by-Side refrigerators provide bigger storage capacity, improved organization, and even cooling across compartments.
LG also said its Door-in-Door refrigerators help reduce cold air loss by allowing users quick access to frequently used items without opening the entire refrigerator. This improves energy efficiency and keeps food fresh for longer periods.
At the premium end of the market, LG showcased its MoodUP refrigerator, which combines modern design with energy-saving features. The refrigerator includes an InstaView panel that allows users to see inside without opening the door, helping reduce cold air loss. The product is also being offered with a washing machine bundle promotion.
