Franklin Ozekhome, the Head, Strategy of Leo Burnet, an ICT firm, has urged start ups and young entrepreneurs to continue to improve on the current development and innovation in technology.
Ozekhome told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that development and innovations would attract foreign investors and reduce Nigeria’s import dependence on technological proficiency.
He urged the government to create enabling environment in the technology sector for young entrepreneurs to the overcome their multiple challenges that hinder their innovations and ideas.
“Technology has done a lot in reviving the economy of some countries like India, Singapore and Kenya.
“Technology is evolving on daily basis and our country is blessed with talented people, who are skillful.
“Quite a number of start ups are confronted with one challenge or the other.
“Whether it will survive the adverse effects of economic downturn depends on a conducive environment to operate.’’
Ozekhome said that part of the challenge was the inability to raise funds to actualise their goals and lack of patronage of their products.
“If government provides enabling environment for the sector, all this challenges will be surmounted,’’ he said.
He advised young entrepreneurs to come together and create a network that would bring out the best of their values that could boost the economy and attract foreign investors’ patronage.
