West Ham United have reportedly expressed interest in signing Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis following his release from Nottingham Forest earlier this year.

According to reports from The West Ham Way, the 27-year-old forward, currently a free agent, has also attracted attention from his former club Watford.

Dennis has been without a team since departing Forest in August after an underwhelming loan spell at Blackburn Rovers, where he featured seven times without scoring and was sent off against Norwich City in March.

Dennis made his name in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season with Watford, scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances, including one against West Ham in the Hammers’ 4-1 win at Vicarage Road. However, since leaving the Hornets following their relegation, his career has faltered.

A move to Nottingham Forest in 2022 yielded just two goals in 19 appearances before he embarked on a series of short-lived loan spells in Turkey and the Championship.

West Ham, currently battling inconsistency in front of goal, are exploring options to bolster its attacking line in the January window. However, questions remain over whether Dennis can rediscover the form that once made him one of the league’s most promising attacking talents.

While some sections of the fanbase may be sceptical of a move for Dennis, especially given his recent struggles, his availability as a free agent could make him a low-risk option as the Hammers look to reinforce their squad mid-season.
