Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has dismissed reports of a rift with Luciano Spalletti ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League play-off clash against Juventus.
Galatasaray host Juventus at RAMS Park on Tuesday in the first leg of its Champions League knockout play-off.
The Turkish champions will be banking on formidable home form, including an unbeaten record against Italian opposition in Istanbul, and a four-game winning streak, while Juventus arrive under pressure following a recent defeat to Inter Milan.

Speculation had suggested tension between Osimhen and Spalletti dating back to their time at SSC Napoli, but the Nigerian international firmly rejected the claims.
“It was said that we had a fight, but that was not true. I have great respect for him,” Osimhen said.
“He slept at Napoli’s facilities for months and worked day and night to convince us that we could win the title. Some coaches help you develop first as a person, then as a footballer.”
Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph under Spalletti, and he acknowledged the Italian tactician’s influence on his development.
Looking ahead to the reunion in Europe’s elite competition, the 27-year-old Super Eagles striker emphasised Galatasaray’s ambition to establish itself among the continent’s top clubs.
“We are trying to grow on the international stage. Very high-level players have been signed, and we aim to achieve good results in the Champions League,” Osimhen told La Gazzetta dello Sport.“
Osimhen described the encounter as a stern tactical and psychological test.
“It will be exciting to face a top-level club like Juventus,” he said. “We know we cannot lose focus, because every mistake against them can be very costly.”
