Take Burkina Faso job – Chukwu tells Keshi

Take Burkina Faso job – Chukwu tells Keshi

Christian Chukwu, former Super Eagles coach, has urged Stephen Keshi to grab the Burkina Faso coaching job if offered to him.

Reports emerged that the Burkina Faso Football Federation shortlisted the AFCON 2013 winning coach as one of the three finalists considered managing their national team.

And the 52-year-old is expected to jet out to Burkina Faso within the next two weeks to hold discussions with Burkina Faso FA, on the prospects of agreeing on a deal with them.

With the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) stalling on offering Keshi a new deal, Chukwu has now backed him to take up the Burkina Faso job.

“If Keshi is given a better offer in Burkina Faso, he should take it,” Chukwu said.

“He is a professional. He should go for the best bidder. There is no argument about that. He has no contract with NFF, he is still negotiating. It is the same thing with the Burkina Faso job. He applied and they shortlisted him. If I was in his shoes, I’d take the better offer.”

Burkina Faso sacked Paul Put after a disappointing 2015 African Nations Cup tournament, crashing out in the group stages of the competition.
