Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri, who recently set a record as the first African to reach the Olympic Games quarterfinal stage in Rio, is now one of the world best Table Tennis player according to the September ranking released by the International Table Tennis Federation.
Quadri garnered 152 points from his brilliant performance in Brazil to be ranked 25th in the world.
Ranked 40th before the Rio Games in Brazil, Quadri’s heroic performance has now seen him move up to the 25th position in the world, the highest by any African player
Also, there was also upward movement on the latest rankings for veteran, Segun Toriola.
Toriola, who made his seventh Olympic Games appearance at Rio, jumped from the 120th spot to 106th position in the world.
