Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has denied allegations of assault and vowed to sue the Turkish journalist who accused him of punching him during an altercation in Istanbul.
The journalist, Tolga Bozduman, claimed that Osimhen, on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, reacted aggressively when he and his colleagues attempted to photograph the striker as he exited a venue.
Osimhen has firmly refuted these allegations, dismissing them as baseless. Speaking to journalists after scoring the decisive penalty in Galatasaray’s 1-0 win over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, the forward gave his account of the incident.

“I went to eat with my friends, and as I was heading back to my van, these guys suddenly appeared with cameras in my face. I was shocked,” Osimhen explained.
“You’ve seen the video online; I was surprised and asked them, ‘What is the problem? Why are you doing this?’ They claimed they were paparazzi.
“My friends approached them and told them they couldn’t act unprofessionally like that. I never punched or hit anyone. I only asked them to delete my pictures. It’s my image, and I have every right to request that.”
Osimhen also accused the journalist of fabricating the story, saying, “I knew they were going to lie about this. If I hit him, he will get justice. If he’s lying, he will face the consequences. I will take the necessary legal steps to ensure the truth prevails.”
The Napoli loanee, currently in exceptional form, has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 20 matches across all competitions this season.
