Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has described Galatasaray’s Turkish Süper Lig triumph as one of the greatest moments of his career after helping the Istanbul giants dramatically clinch the title.

Osimhen played a decisive role in the championship-winning campaign, scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 4-2 victory over Hatayspor to mathematically seal the club’s 25th Turkish league title.

The brace capped a sensational debut season in Turkey for the Super Eagles forward, who joined Galatasaray on a high-profile loan move from Napoli last summer.

‘The best feeling in my life’

Amid jubilant celebrations at RAMS Park, where thousands of supporters stormed the pitch and lit up the Istanbul sky with flares, Osimhen admitted the achievement held special significance for him.

“I have won titles before, but the passion here is something I have never experienced,” Osimhen told reporters.

“Winning this for the Galatasaray fans is the best feeling in my life. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Istanbul, they treated me like a king. Today, we give them the crown they deserve.”

Osimhen praises teammates and coach Okan Buruk

Reflecting on a demanding title race against fierce rivals Fenerbahce, Osimhen praised the team’s determination and resilience throughout the campaign.

“We knew we were the best team in the country, but we had to prove it every single week,” he added.

“The coach, Okan Buruk, believed in me, my teammates fought for me, and I just wanted to repay that faith with goals. To score two today and win the league in front of our home crowd is a dream come true.”

Striker avoids transfer talks amid European interest

Despite constant speculation surrounding his future and interest from several top European clubs, Osimhen refused to be drawn into transfer discussions during the celebrations.

“Tonight is not for talking about transfers. Tonight is for the Lions of Istanbul,” he said.

“I am a Galatasaray player, and I am going to celebrate this victory with my brothers.”

Galatasaray strengthen dominance in Turkish football

Galatasaray finished the season on 77 points from 33 matches, ahead of second-placed Fenerbahce on 73 points.

The title triumph also completed a dominant campaign for Galatasaray, who strengthened their superiority over their rivals following last month’s emphatic 3-0 win against Fenerbahce.
