The event continues the inaugural PFL Africa tournament, which aims to crown the continent’s first-ever PFL champions.

In one of the most anticipated bouts of the night, Adeshina (7-3) will face Jean Jacques Lubaya (9-1) of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a Featherweight First Round showdown, as both fighters look to stake their claim in the title race.

Meanwhile, Patrick Ocheme (6-1) will face off against Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1) in a high-stakes Featherweight First Round bout between two of West Africa’s finest MMA talents.

The co-main event sees Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1) return to action following a successful PFL debut, taking on Gambia’s seasoned fighter Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in a welterweight first-round contest.

The August 9 event is part of a larger initiative by PFL to expand mixed martial arts (MMA) across Africa. A total of 32 fighters from 15 nations will compete across four divisions throughout the 2025 season.

The PFL Africa journey officially kicks off on July 19 in Cape Town, with the league committed to showcasing the continent’s top MMA talent and providing a pathway to global stardom.
