Napoli director Giovanni Manna is eager for a swift resolution regarding Victor Osimhen’s future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this summer amid reports linking him to Manchester United.

The Nigerian striker is expected to depart Napoli at the end of the 2024/25 season, with Manchester United heavily linked with the 26-year-old forward.

Osimhen, one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, has impressed on loan at Galatasaray, scoring 20 goals in 26 appearances.

His brilliant form has attracted the attention of Man United manager Ruben Amorim, and reports say that the Red Devils are willing to meet the former Lille striker’s release clause.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Manna acknowledged Osimhen’s status as a highly sought-after player.

“Victor Osimhen is always a hot topic, not just in the transfer market. He is an attractive player for many clubs, and everyone knows about his release clause. We are working to find a quick solution to avoid a repeat of last summer’s saga.”

Napoli previously sold Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January to PSG and are keen to prevent another drawn-out transfer situation.

“There are regrets. Losing a key player mid-season is never easy,” Manna admitted. “We must always be ready to handle situations beyond our control, but we are confident we made the right decision.”

Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea and had even agreed on a deal with Al-Ahli before Napoli altered their asking price.

After the Saudi club withdrew, Chelsea also failed to reach an agreement, leading to Osimhen’s exclusion from Napoli’s Serie A squad before his loan to Galatasaray.
