Over 280 golfers from across Nigeria gathered in Ado-Ekiti for the 2025 Ekiti Golf Club Captain’s Inaugural Tournament, marking a major milestone for the sport in the state.
The two-day event, held from March 1 to 2, 2025, celebrated the induction of Tolu Falayi as the club’s new captain and underscored MTN Nigeria’s commitment to sports development.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji, represented by Chief of Staff Niyi Adebayo, reaffirmed the state government’s support for golf, emphasizing its economic and health benefits.
“We want many of our people to adopt the game, come here regularly to play and enjoy themselves, while also benefiting from the health advantages of golf,” Adebayo stated.
