Arsenal have confirmed that Kai Havertz will miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during the club’s Dubai training camp.

The 25-year-old forward will undergo surgery and is expected to continue his rehabilitation into pre-season for the 2025/26 campaign, leaving the Gunners without a recognized striker for the remainder of the season.

The Athletic first reported that Havertz had suffered a torn hamstring, with Arsenal later confirming:

“We can confirm that Kai Havertz has sustained a hamstring injury during a training session in Dubai last week. Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days.”

“Soon after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, which is expected to extend into pre-season preparations for next season. Everyone at the club is fully focused on supporting Kai to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.”

Havertz’s absence leaves Arsenal without a recognized striker for their final 14 Premier League games, as they chase leaders Liverpool and continue their Champions League campaign.

Manager Mikel Arteta failed to reinforce his attacking options in the January transfer window, with a late bid for Ollie Watkins rejected by Aston Villa.

Arsenal were already without Gabriel Jesus, who suffered an ACL injury in their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United, ruling him out for the season. Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli is sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury sustained in their Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle.

Bukayo Saka, who has been out since December 21 with a hamstring issue, trained in Dubai and could return in March.
