Liverpool join race to sign PSG star Mbappe

Mbappe to leave PSG end of season

According to reports in England, Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign French and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG expires this summer, but the 25-year-old playmaker has yet to renew his contract, which means Mbappe will officially be a free agent next year when his contract expires.

The Mirror claims the World Cup winner has already agreed to forgo a loyalty bonus worth £69million to secure his smooth exit at the Parc des Princes, stadium as Liverpool prepares to make their move.

The Reds have consistently been touted as a potential destination for the Frenchman in recent years, but there has not been any formal approach from the club.

Liverpool will have to flex financial muscle with La Liga giants Real Madrid who reportedly made a fresh January move for Mbappe

Real Madrid possesses the financial firepower it would likely take to make any deal happen.

Mbappe had expressed his desire to play in the Premiership with Liverpool his preferred team in England noting that Anfield remains his Mums favourite club.

“I talked to Liverpool because it’s my mum’s favourite club,” Mbappe told the Telegraph in 2022.
