Here are five Super Eagles players to watch as Nigeria take on Iran:

Maduka Okoye (Udinese)

Okoye has a key opportunity to reclaim his place as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper. With Stanley Nwabali out of contention, the Udinese shot-stopper, who has featured regularly in Serie A this season, will be eager to impress and re-establish himself between the sticks.

Paul Onuachu (Trabzonspor)

The in-form striker has been prolific in the Turkish Süper Lig, leading the scoring charts with over 20 goals across competitions. However, he is yet to replicate that form consistently for Nigeria. With Victor Osimhen absent, this could be his moment to stake a strong claim.

Philip Otele (Hamburger SV)

Otele earns his first senior call-up after an encouraging spell in Germany. Known for his direct attacking play and finishing ability, the winger will be keen to make an immediate impact and provide Chelle with more options in attack.

Emmanuel Fernandez (Rangers)

The London-born centre-back has impressed since joining Rangers, contributing defensively and chipping in with goals. His physical presence and composure make him one of the most exciting defensive prospects in the squad.

Collins Yira Sor (Genk)

Blessed with pace, Sor is a dangerous attacking outlet capable of changing games quickly. Though his numbers this season have been modest, his speed and unpredictability make him a valuable asset, particularly off the bench.
