Kelechi Iheanacho was on the scoring chart as Celtic defeated Dunfermline Athletic 3-1 to win the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park on Saturday.

The victory sealed a domestic double for Celtic just days after their dramatic Scottish Premiership title win.

Celtic started brightly and took the lead in the 17th minute through Daizen Maeda.

The Hoops continued to dominate proceedings and doubled their advantage nine minutes before halftime when Arne Engels found the net.

Iheanacho was introduced in place of James Forrest two minutes before the hour mark and quickly made his impact felt.

The Nigerian striker scored Celtic’s third goal after the break to put the result beyond doubt before Josh Cooper grabbed a late consolation for Dunfermline in the 80th minute.

Iheanacho finished the campaign with nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for Celtic.

The win extended Celtic’s unbeaten run to nine consecutive matches in all competitions as the club rounded off the season in impressive fashion under caretaker manager Martin O’Neill.

Celtic’s 43rd Scottish Cup triumph also secured the club’s 14th league and cup double.

For O’Neill, the success added another chapter to his remarkable history with the Glasgow giants, taking his tally to nine major honours as Celtic manager across two spells spanning 26 years.

The 74-year-old is currently in his second stint as caretaker manager this season and has yet to decide whether he will remain at the club beyond the current campaign.
